For over 50 years, Forthglade have been making naturally delicious meals and treats for dogs – and in doing so, strengthening the bond between pets and their people! They approached Falmouth-based Design Agency Kingdom & Sparrow looking for a brand refresh to introduce them to the new wave of dog owners who see food as more than fuel and want the best, healthiest option for their pooch.
The pet-food aisle was showing a disconnect between nutrition and a happy dog-owning lifestyle creating a functional buying process for consumers. Pet food isn’t just nutrition – it’s part of the daily moments that deepen our relationship with our tail-wagging friends. Kingdom & Sparrow set out to change this, and show that Forthglades nutritious products enhance real moments of connection; building stronger relationships and achieving a healthier lifestyle.
They updated the identity with a more contemporary, approachable logotype to align with the new lifestyle-driven brand positioning and created a clear pack hierarchy – future proofed for sub-ranging and including colour systems and iconography to support pet-owners through their purchasing journey and communicate the quality and benefits behind every recipe.

The brand’s illustrative style also evolved, bringing more movement, warmth and maturity into the brand. A bespoke, Devon-inspired landscape illustration was crafted as a hero asset, evoking Forthglade’s roots and love for the outdoors. It creates a world where our custom dog illustrations live, play, and help create strong, recognisable shelf presence across the range.
Through considered strategy and thoughtful craft, Kingdom & Sparrow have helped Forthglade connect with today’s pet owners, giving them the tools for future expansion and positioned them in consumers’ minds as the natural choice to strengthen the health and connection with their four legged friends.
