National Rainbow College Fund: Big Dreams in Bold Colors

National Rainbow College Fund: Big Dreams in Bold Colors

Created to address the unique challenges facing LGBTQ+ students, the National Rainbow College Fund offers hope to a vulnerable audience.

Lesbian, gay, and bisexual students typically receive twelve percent less financial support than their heterosexual peers. For transgender students, there is a seventeen-percept gap. This reality helps explain why about twenty percent of LGBTQ+ students stay in the closet until they are financially secure.

The fund is built on the belief that no one should have to compromise their authenticity to protect their chances of success. It aims to give the LGBTQ+ youth the opportunity to figure out who they are, what their future holds, and how they can live their lives to the fullest while still being true to who they are.

MiresBall designed the visual identity to emphasize optimism and individuality—from a stylized rainbow mark launching forward to the vibrant, colorful typography that creates a distinctive presence.

Photography celebrates diversity and gives students the space to be who they are: unabashedly making direct eye contact with the viewer as if to say, “We, too, belong here.”

At the heart of the campaign are statements that capture the vision of the fund where every LGBTQ+ person in the U.S. has the means to realize their educational dreams, regardless of the public nature of their sexual identity.

It’s the scholarship that lets you be you.
