Rare Ideas partnered with Nanna’s Negroni to craft a distinctive brand identity for this European restaurant nestled in Pune’s Baner district. The collaboration centered on bridging authentic European culinary traditions with contemporary local dining sensibilities. Led by a Cordon Bleu-trained chef, the restaurant sought to create an inviting space that stayed true to European gastronomy while resonating with local patrons.

Through extensive market research of Pune’s culinary landscape, Rare Ideas identified a strong local appetite for innovative dining concepts. This insight drove the development of a brand personality that strikes a delicate balance – sophisticated yet approachable, positioning Nanna’s Negroni as the ‘cool aunt’ of Pune’s dining scene. The name itself cleverly references Italian heritage while setting expectations for a refined yet unpretentious experience.

The visual identity features a bespoke sans-serif wordmark, distinguished by an elegant diamond-shaped tittle above the “i” – a subtle design element that adds sophistication while maintaining approachability. This attention to detail extends across all customer touchpoints, from menu design to social media presence, creating a cohesive brand experience.

The restaurant’s interiors blend European sophistication with welcoming warmth, while branded elements like cocktail coasters and takeaway packaging incorporate playful storytelling touches. This comprehensive approach ensures that every interaction, whether dining in or taking out, delivers on the brand’s promise of elevated European dining without pretense.
