Mol Design Studio creates Girò Bistrò Brand Identity

The creation of the Logo and the name “Girò Bistrò” begins with a request from the clients (a young couple from Puglia) to have a place whose name could contains not only the concept of eating, but could also represent their own children who are Giorgio and Rocco.

In Italian the word “Giro” means to go around in a circle and also to go for a walk. In that sense, the name not only contains the names of Giorgio and Rocco but it can also be associated with a place where you can stop to eat while taking a walk.

At the same time, they did not want to link the place with a particular type of food since they wanted to give themselves the possibility of offering take-out food, pizzas and even offering table service. This also with the vision of becoming a franchising in the near future.

For “girò bistrò” we created the logo, with the goal of emphasize the meaning of the name, writing it with stylized elements: dishes that immediately give an intuitive meaning. We have concentrated all the elements in the initial “g”, so that it can also be used as an isolated symbol and to maintain the legibility of the text in the other letters.

The “g” is made up of a positive/negative plate seen from above and a fork placed on it that describes the action of eating, bringing life to the name and making it dynamic. The fork handle that comes out from the plate and the bowl below become the details of the lowercase letter “g” and at the same time are visual elements of the bistro. Whoever looks at the logo for the first time, immediately understands that the symbol describes something related to food, a place where you can eat.

The short name “Girò”, the final accent and the rhyme with “Bistrò” help to memorize the name, while the graphic elements and the details attract our attention.

The brown and beige colors were chosen by request from the client because they wanted to have a woody image that can be associated with many varieties of food.

For all these reasons, the “girò bistrò” logo becomes unique.
