Mógu — is a brand of exotic mushrooms from Asia that gives everyone an opportunity to try something new and unusual, to find new tastes in Asian cuisine. After analyzing the niche of mushroom production and the customers’ choice in it, I understood that the package for such an exotic project should have the association with Asian design and be bright. Moreover, I tried to make it mostly got young customers that are interested in trendy products and like to follow latest food innovations. Besides, such people like visual aesthetic and are interested in cooking, so they often spend some time in the kitchen.
There are three types of packages: for enoki, eryngii and shiitake. These mushrooms can be found in Chinese territories, so it also takes time to get them to Russian shops, that’s why I’ve chosen a box as a form-factor for this project. The main idea was to create an attractive and colorful package for the Asian mushrooms that would capture the attention of customers, because the problem of mushrooms packages is that most of them look dull and identical. When you look for the mushrooms in supermarket you see usual plastic boxes with transparent pate on it. So I decided to make the mushroom package more noticeable with the help of bright gradients and mushroom-associated lettering. Besides, you can also see on the package a hole that demonstrates the type on the concrete mushrooms that are easily seen inside the box. The colors and graphic techniques are associated with Asian design, so these materials are colorful.
