Mezame Cosmetics Brand Identity by Student Ekaterina Kravchenko

Mezame is a cosmetics brand built around a simple yet evocative idea: awakening. The name itself, derived from Japanese, means “to awaken,” reflecting the moment when nature stirs with new light, freshness, and clarity. Our goal was to capture this poetic sense of rebirth in the brand’s visual language and packaging design.

Rather than following common beauty industry aesthetics—gloss, glamour, or florals—we turned to the natural world for inspiration. The visual symbol of Mezame is a stylized grasshopper, chosen for its delicate presence and harmony with nature. This quiet, understated creature reflects the brand’s values: simplicity, movement, and a mindful connection to the environment.

The design features a minimalist, abstract interpretation of the grasshopper. Clean lines and organic forms create a sense of subtle motion, while the motif adapts across packaging, from single icons to layered patterns. This visual rhythm captures the passage of time and the quiet repetition of natural cycles.

Packaging materials were chosen to reflect the purity of the brand. Transparent olive-toned glass jars paired with white matte lids suggest calm and care. The color palette is soft and natural—cool greens, warm neutrals—giving the brand a fresh yet grounded feel. Typography is airy, refined, and evenly spaced, contributing to a sense of calm and clarity.

The Mezame identity expands beyond packaging to window displays, printed matter, and in-store graphics. The brand system is modular and versatile, but always cohesive—anchored by the grasshopper symbol and the concept of awakening.

In a saturated market, Mezame offers a breath of quiet. The brand design isn’t just about skincare—it’s about rhythm, reflection, and re-connection. It invites users to slow down, take a breath, and begin again.
