Mammoth Creative Rebrands Stepping Out: A Fresh Look for The Big Step Out

Stepping Out with Carers is a national charity dedicated to highlighting the invaluable contributions of unpaid carers across the UK. They achieve this by organising sociable group walks, offering essential connection and respite for carers and those they care for.

This year, they aimed to amplify their impact through their annual walking festival, The Big Step Out, and sought Mammoth’s expertise to rebrand Stepping Out and develop a fresh strategy and visual identity for the festival.

Mammoth’s rebrand and campaign were centred around one cohesive concept: The First Step. Emphasising inclusivity, the brand encourages people to take that initial step by incorporating fun elements to boost engagement.

The dynamic legs in the logo serve as a versatile asset, seamlessly integrated across all platforms, forming the foundation for memorable campaign visuals. To highlight diversity, Mammoth included a wheelchair in the logo design, representing the inclusivity of all participants.

The campaign encouraged people to walk and record their steps from 12 July to 25 July. The aim was to see how far the Stepping Out community could collectively walk for unpaid carers and the people they care for. Famous celebrities also participated by donating their steps, including Sir Steve Redgrave, Anton Du Beke, Judy Murray, and the England Ladies Cricket Team.

Showcasing the diversity of people and places involved in Stepping Out, Mammoth used a vibrant colour palette and playful design style to create an engaging visual identity. This new identity aims to empower The Big Step Out for 2024, making it irresistibly intriguing and fostering greater participation.

By highlighting the vibrant community and the positive impact of the walks, Mammoth aims to draw more attention to the charity’s cause and encourage more people to get involved. The refreshed brand identity not only supports the festival but also strengthens the overall mission of Stepping Out with Carers.
