TII (Technology Innovation Institute) asked me to design and paint 6 murals to visually enhance the experience of the scientists inside the Directed Energy Research Centre (DERC). The DERC hosts a community of sharp scientists dedicated to study the behaviour of electromagnetic and sound waves.

But why did they want something so human, like art, inside a place that lives off data, numbers, and rational thinking? The answer was to have a disruptive element inside the lab, to ignite the imagination of anyone who steps in, as an invitation to embrace creative thinking as much as analytical.

A premise that gave me complete freedom as an artist to create these six murals using shape, form, colour, rhythm, and line to represent electromagnetics, acoustic waves, radiation, lasers, and frequencies.

Results: 6 murals in total were painted, 280 sqm of abstract art, Increased a sense of belonging by making the lab walls uniquely distinctive in the world, Building brand equity through the use of brand colours, Created an emotional bond with the place, Captivate the visitors’ curiosity online and offline and Giving every wall a unique new vibe
