In the heart of Detroit’s midtown, Mad Nice is a culinary concept where Palm Springs California collides with the soul of Italy. This sophisticated restaurant concept seamlessly blends West Coast vibes with Italian flair, creating a unique dining experience that resonates with the Detroit’s vibrant energy.

The establishment represents a spectrum of styles—business in the front, party in the back. The ambiance exudes sophistication with mid-century design and coastal chic decor, setting the stage for smooth, sophisticated service. The menu surprises patrons with a modern Italian twist, while signature Detroit sauce adds a local touch. Mad Nice unfolds as a hidden bottega, brimming with energy and intrigue, where guests can savour delicacies, sip on espresso martinis, and indulge in take-away delights amidst locally crafted charm.
Elegance, energy, and surprise define Mad Nice’s brand ethos, where new ideas seamlessly meet timeless, classic design. The logo mirrors this fusion, combining serif and sans-serif fonts, playing on the juxtaposition of “mad” and “nice.” The brand’s tagline—‘Hella Cool, Stupid Good, Mad Nice’—epitomises the restaurant’s ethos.

Drawing inspiration from the coastal landscapes of California and Italy, the colour palette mirrors the combination of iconic Italian sunrises and Palm Springs sunsets. Ombre gradients, subtly infused into collateral, offer refreshing and surprising brand moments. Typography choices further reinforce the fusion of old and new, with PP Editorial New providing a classic mid-century Italian touch and Coolvetica embodying the modernity of 70s L.A.

The art styling, reminiscent of vintage Italian amaro posters, is reimagined with a contemporary twist, embracing a Wes Anderson-inspired symmetry composition. Overexposed flash photography captures the essence of Mad Nice, striking a balance between the old and the new, the mad and the nice.
