“Mã Hoá | Vận Khí Chuyển Mình”
“Mã hoá” is a visual project exploring the transformative journey of fortune, humanity, and all living things at the threshold between the old and the new year. As old energies dissolve, new fortune is born, opening the next cycle in the continuous flow of time.

Celebrating Vietnam’s Lunar New Year 2026, the project presents a renewed perspective through the image of the Horse (馬) – the zodiac animal of “Bính Ngọ” (丙午) 2026, applied to a series of red envelope designs. The concept draws inspiration from Vietnamese culture, people, nature, spirituality, and the cosmos.

“Mã hoá” is a Vietnamese wordplay carrying dual meanings: “Mã” (Horse) and “Mã hoá” (encoding or activating data). As the Horse charges beyond old boundaries, vital energy radiates outward, transforming each gift – each red envelope – into a new encoded fortune, carrying wishes of new beginnings, luck, and freedom.

The Horse is inspired by Vietnamese folk art, where symbolic spirit and vibrant color form the foundation of the visual language. Combined with expressive typographic structures and metaphorical forms, the spirit animal moves beyond static representation to become a dynamic emblem – representing inner strength, rebirth, and an ongoing journey of transformation.

Humans and all beings exist within an invisible bond of the soul. When the inner self is illuminated, empathy with all living things begins to unfold.

The subtle opening of the packaging serves as a guiding cue—inviting each individual to pause, reflect, and understand themselves, before stepping into the journey of “Mã hoá” – Transforming the Flow of Fortune.

The project’s color palette is drawn from nature, people, and the landscapes of Vietnam -where the flow of fortune moves in rhythm with the four seasons. Green evokes the vitality of spring, vibrant yellow carries the abundant energy of summer, deep blue reflects the calm richness of autumn, while warm orange-red of winter closes the cycle with fullness and togetherness.

Each hue not only mirrors familiar scenery, but also encodes emotions, memories, and the Vietnamese way of life, blending nature and humanity into a continuous flow of time.
