Light in the Darkness – A Visual Exploration of Horror Cinema

Light in the Darkness is a design experiment that explores the boundary between good and evil through perception, code and visual culture. Conceived and developed by Studio K95, the project merges artificial intelligence, interaction design and traditional poster art into a hybrid experience that lives both online and in print.

The series consists of ten posters inspired by cult horror and disturbing films, each representing a dual narrative. With a red or cyan filter, physical or digital, the image changes and reveals its opposite side. What first appears angelic turns unsettling, and what seems dark becomes pure. The project invites the viewer to question what they see and how easily perception can be manipulated by light, color and context.

On the website, built with Vue and Nuxt, this duality becomes interaction. The cursor itself acts as a filter, transforming the screen into an immersive interface that reacts to movement and gaze. Every animation, delay and transition is designed to make the user feel part of the experiment rather than a spectator.

All characters and elements were generated through AI, not to imitate existing films but to reinterpret them. It is a study on authorship in the age of artificial intelligence and a reflection on how design can evolve beyond its physical form.

Light in the Darkness is both a visual manifesto and a digital playground. It celebrates experimentation, contradiction and the endless dialogue between aesthetics and meaning.
