Light bulb Exhibition Brand Identity by Student Maria Kozlova

The exhibition “Light bulb” is dedicated to the light bulb invented by Thomas Edison, the history of lighting and his contribution to the life of society.

An display variable font was developed for the visual identity of the exhibition. The main idea for the font was the image of an lamp on physical drawings of an electric circuit. The typographic identity for the «Light Bulb» exhibition features an intentional variable font. The central concept behind this font revolves around an image of an incandescent light bulb depicted on physical drawings of an electrical circuit. This symbolism encapsulates the exhibition’s core themes, including the history of illumination and the profound significance of the incandescent light bulb.

The font’s intentional variability reflects the diverse elements present in the history and technology of lighting. Its design, inspired by the filament and circuitry of the light bulb, aims to capture the essence of innovation, the interconnectedness of electric currents, and the transformative influence of Thomas Edison’s invention on the world of illumination.

The Light Bulb exhibition will feature various elements reflecting the history of lighting, as well as the importance and influence of the incandescent bulb. Here are a few possible inclusions. Exhibits of early lamps: replicas or models of early lamps by Thomas Edison or similar inventions demonstrating progress in the field of lighting. Interactive demonstrations, photographs and documents, technological innovation and information stands.
