BAUS, Born as a barbershop, grown into a movement.
Rooted in Michigan, this is a community inspired by daily life, creative, and rebellious minds, a meeting point for ideas and like-minded peers.
For this project, we built a brand identity that merges raw authenticity with soft rebellion. Inspired by late 90s and early 2000s design, we embraced the aesthetic of handcrafted ads, underground manifestos, and early digital graphics, shaping a space where self-expression is essential.
To capture the essence of BAUS, we crafted illustrations from scratch, bringing its rebellious yet refined spirit to life. The result? A brand that’s not aggressive, not street, not overly artistic, just real.
BAUS is more than just a barbershop—it is a statement, a culture, a reflection of an attitude that thrives on individuality and raw creativity. It stands as a testament to those who carve their own paths, who reject the ordinary and embrace the unconventional. Every element of BAUS tells a story, from its aesthetic choices to the people it attracts. It’s a place where authenticity isn’t just encouraged—it’s expected.
The design language of BAUS speaks volumes. Each visual detail, from the grainy textures to the bold yet refined typography, is intentional. It pays homage to an era of underground culture while remaining modern and timeless. The illustrations are not just decorative—they embody the essence of BAUS, breathing life into its rebellious yet sophisticated spirit. This isn’t a brand that shouts; it’s a brand that resonates.
The balance of rawness and precision in BAUS’s identity is a reflection of its core values. It’s not about being flashy or seeking attention. Instead, it’s about presence, about making an impact without forcing it. The energy of BAUS is effortless, confident, and unmistakably real.
More than just a brand, BAUS is a movement, a space where self-expression and individuality come first. It continues to evolve, shaping itself through the people who connect with it, growing organically into something larger than just a barbershop.
This is BAUS—unfiltered, unapologetic, and undeniably authentic.
