Klapp is a place full of freedom and creativity atmosphere. A place for its own, where representatives of the creative intelligentsia gather for a cup of coffee, just like a hundred years ago at the beginning of the century, young daring representatives of the future Russian avant-garde gathered: poets, artists, musicians and simply not rich, but talented representatives of the marginal art of the beginning of the century. The place where open sexuality and creative lodging is the main form of pastime, whiles smoking a cigarette, talking on the topics of philosophy, literature, cinema and painting, there was always a cup of black coffee on the table. The name for such a place was not chosen by chance. A well-known fact is that Mayakovsky was an avid billiard player. And Klapp, from the word klappshtoss in a billiard game, is a special blow with a cue in which the first ball, hitting the other, stops in place. We transferred the vibe of those places that were a shelter for the creative oppositional youth of those years in our time, like Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich and the Podval” Brodyachey Sobaki St. Petersburg. We thought, what would a place like Cabaret Voltaire look like now – a refuge for young and poor artists, then unknown to anyone. That was one of the favorite meeting place for Bohemians.
What is bohemian cabaret without sexy half-naked girls and can-can?
This is how the surreal and wild combination of dancing fingers was born.
The result was a daring and provocative intonation of the project, emphasizing the peculiarity of the place and cafe visitors.
