Kind Translates Stingray Laser Focus on Human Resources Into Emotionally Resonant Film Campaign

Stingray — Laser Focus on Human Resources
The Numbers Behind the People: Stories That Define Stingray.

Stingray is one of Europe’s most innovative companies. As part of Novo Nordisk — Europe’s largest company by market capitalisation — Stingray has redefined how the world understands fish welfare. Their groundbreaking system uses advanced underwater cameras, machine learning, and surgical laser precision to detect, scan, and eliminate sea lice, without harming the fish or disturbing their natural habitat.

It is a technological breakthrough that helps solve one of the aquaculture industry’s most significant biological challenges, and a symbol of precision, gentleness, and relentless focus on welfare.

These short documentary-style recruitment films were created to reveal the human craftsmanship behind Stingray’s groundbreaking technology, positioning the company as a place where precision, passion, and purpose converge. Our task was to translate highly technical roles into emotionally resonant stories by highlighting each employee’s former professional background: the dancer, the goldsmith, the space-standard solderer, the watchmaker, and the fish-health biologist.

The goal was twofold:
To attract new talent by celebrating the people who build Stingray’s systems, and to elevate Stingray’s mission by showing how their individual experience and discipline contribute directly to better animal welfare and environmental outcomes. Conceptually, the films use each person’s previous craft as a narrative lens – grit expressed through repetition, value shaped through fine workmanship, precision honed over years, and care grounded in science.

The result is a set of straightforward, character-driven pieces that give potential applicants a genuine sense of the culture, the craft, and the work’s purpose. The films formed the core of a broader recruitment campaign, appearing across Stingray’s website, digital ads, and exhibition stands at major industry conventions.

Stingray is today one of Norway’s fastest-growing companies and has achieved remarkable success with its recruitment campaign. Their ability to attract top talent reflects not only the strength of their technology, but the strength of their culture — a place where people, purpose, and innovation move in the same direction.
