Kind Shapes UNA Brewery and Kitchen Into a Contemporary Bar Brand Centered on Belonging

UNA, Branding a Brewery Bar
Craft, Community & Companionship
A global craft-beer wave has been rolling across the world for the past decade. What began in the United States as a small-scale brewing movement has grown into an international celebration of flavour, craftsmanship, and authenticity. Within this landscape, a distinction has emerged between large-scale breweries and intimate brew-pubs — places where beer is not only produced, but experienced.

Togetherness, Tapped
UNA Brewery & Kitchen is a brewery bar born from this movement. A place where locally brewed beer and honest, ingredient-driven food meet in perfect harmony. The name Una comes from Latin, meaning “together” or “as one.” Togetherness is the soul of the brand — because truly great beer is best enjoyed in good company, and at UNA, craft beer from around the world gathers under a single roof.

We also developed the restaurant concept, expanding the brand into a unified culinary universe built on the same identity, philosophy, and devotion to local craft.

An Ambigram of Unity
The logo is designed as an ambigram — a word that reads the same when turned upside down.
A poetic symbol for a place built on connection:
A logo that greets you with the same face as you enter and as you leave.
A mark that mirrors the idea of sharing, circling, returning — the visual embodiment of community.
Togetherness, preserved in typography.

This single typographic gesture sets the tone for the entire identity: clever yet understated, crafted yet contemporary, rooted in meaning yet open in form. The visual language balances industrial character with modern refinement — a nod to steel tanks and copper piping, expressed with clarity and restraint.

Designing for Craft: Materials with Meaning
Every material choice in UNA’s graphic universe reinforces authenticity and craft:

·       Menus and printed matter are produced on custom-dyed papers in nuanced beer tones — pale ale amber, stout brown, wheat-beer gold — with letterpress and debossing that give each piece a tactile, hand-touched quality.

·       Brass book screws hold menus together like small mechanical details borrowed from the brewery floor.

·       Beer coasters and tankards feature the house beer, served in custom-designed handled bottles that echo traditional brewing vessels.

·       Timber signage and fire-branded marks extend the craft story into the spatial environment, where every sign feels the touch of human hands.

·       Wax-sealed envelopes and hand-assembled elements complete the identity, adding a sense of ritual — the feeling that nothing here is mass-produced, everything is intentionally made.

A story of grain, wood, metal, heat, and human touch — the building blocks of real craft beer.

A Brew Built on Belonging

UNA Brewery & Kitchen is more than a place to drink; it is a place to gather. A modern brewery bar where industrial heritage meets contemporary design. Where a typographic ambigram becomes a symbol of shared experience. Where every material, every menu, every mark reinforces the beauty of small-scale craft.

UNA is, at its core, a brand brewed for community — authentic, warm, welcoming, and crafted with intention from the first letter to the last drop.
