KIND Shapes the Bjerck Restaurant Brand Through Contemporary Nordic Culinary Identity

KIND Shapes the Bjerck Restaurant Brand Through Contemporary Nordic Culinary Identity

Branding a Culinary Expedition
Bjerck is a restaurant concept created by acclaimed Norwegian chef Adam Bjerck — a name synonymous with ambition, craft, and contemporary Nordic cuisine. The restaurant carries not only his surname, but his philosophy: honest flavours, uncompromising quality, and a modern approach to hospitality rooted in deep culinary heritage.

A Chef of Remarkable Achievement
Despite his young age, Adam Bjerck is considered one of Norway’s most respected culinary talents. His career began in 2007 at Potetkjelleren in Bergen, before he completed his apprenticeship under Bocuse d’Or winner Lars-Erik Underthun at the Michelin-recognised Feinschmecker in Oslo.

He later cooked at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Upstate New York — one of the world’s leading farm-to-table institutions — and gained further inspiration from time spent at Geranium in Copenhagen.

Adam served as a consultant at the Culinary Institute of Norway, became head chef at the newly opened Fish & Cow in Stavanger, and ultimately channelled his pioneering drive into co-founding Adams Matkasse, a home-delivery food concept that reshaped how Norwegians cook and eat.

Awards and Distinctions (Selected International Achievements)

Adam Bjerck has represented Norway at the highest level, including:

·       Member, Norwegian National Culinary Team

·       Silver Medal — Culinary Olympics

·       Silver Medal — World Championships

·       Silver — Nordic Chef of the Year

·       Wild Card Winner — Nordic Chef Competition

·       Norwegian candidate for Bocuse d’Or

He has also twice competed in Chef of the Year as commis chef for Sebastian Myhre and Ørjan Johannessen.

A Visual Identity Rooted in Nordic Elegance
Bjerck’s visual and communication concept is inspired by international culinary culture combined with short-traveled Nordic ingredients. The identity is built around a custom typographic solution — an open, modernist typeface with a distinctly Scandinavian clarity. It feels refined, unpretentious, and crafted, mirroring the kitchen’s philosophy.

The colour palette draws from Norwegian nature: sea-blues, stone-greys, moss-greens, and warm neutrals, grounding the brand in the landscapes from which its ingredients are sourced. The imagery blends stylised gourmet photography with evocative natural scenes, creating a visual rhythm between haute cuisine and the rugged environments that inspire it.
