Formerly denoted by the initials of its founders, GLK lacked the resonance and distinctiveness essential for brand recognition and recall. Thus, we proposed a name change to Kendy + Kobayashi Architects, not only paying homage to the Japanese heritage of its visionary founders but also providing a solid foundation for narrative-driven brand elevation.

Crafting a bespoke visual identity, we meticulously curated a visual universe that not only encapsulates the essence of the founders’ cultural heritage but also embodies the ethos of the firm. Drawing inspiration from Japanese symbolism, the predominant hues of white interspersed with vibrant accents of red subtly echo the iconic Japanese flag, infusing the brand with an aura of sophistication and cultural richness.
