Frozen in Time is an exhibition dedicated to Edward Muybridge, a pioneer of photography and the moving image. It explores his contribution to the development of visual art and scientific experiments that changed our perception of time and motion. The basis of the exhibition’s identity will be the author’s “Frozen” typeface, which reflects the unique style of Muybridge and his era.
The font was created based on the idea of ”photo movement” that repeats itself cyclically. When the letters are connected in one font, they look like the handwriting of the photographer himself.
At an exhibition, this model could convey the style of the XIX and XX centuries, in which Eadweard Muybridge created photographs in his own style.
Color palette: Muted tones typical of the XIX and XX centuries, such as blacks and grays, are used. This creates an atmosphere of nostalgia and a connection to history.
Graphic elements: Incorporated into the exhibition design are stylized images of Maybridge’s famous works (photographs of people and animals). Demonstrates the movement of the photographs and their ‘movement’.
Typography: The main text of the exhibition is in Frozen font, which creates a consistent style throughout the materials. Additional texts may be written in more classic fonts to ensure legibility and contrast.
The Frozen in Time exhibition identity will become an integral part of the perception of Edward Muybridge’s work. The “Frozen” font will not only capture the spirit of the era, but also create a unique atmosphere, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the world of XIX and XX century photography and movement.
