Hello, we are freelance packaging designers. As two designers, we serve brands. Seven Rivers is a brand founded in the United States that sells local products from Jamaica. The brand contacted us and said that they wanted to renew the packaging of the tea products on sale and give them a more modern and attractive appearance.

Packaging Design Brief: Our packaging is sold in a transparent bag with an old information label. Our products are herbal teas unique to Jamaica. We are a premium brand in terms of content and quality. But this is not evident in our packaging. It is of very poor quality and does not inspire confidence in the consumer. We are considering using doypack in our new packaging. We must give our packaging an extremely modern, interesting and reliable brand image. Additionally, the most important part is to have Jamaican details on the packaging, which will tell the consumer that it is a local product. Finally, we want to use a transparent window in our packaging where our products can be seen by the consumer.

Solution: We were very excited that the brand switched to Doypack packaging and changed its vision. In the first stage, we conducted a very detailed sector research. We found that the packaging designs for these Jamaican teas were very limited and outdated. We saw this situation as an opportunity to put our brand ahead of its competitors. First, we drew illustrations for the products with a more innovative approach instead of real images. These illustrations are drawings that both evoke Jamaica and emphasize the plants of the teas. In the design, we made sure that the variant colors were vibrant and striking. In the illustrations, we achieved a dynamic design by using melting and different filling options instead of flat drawings.
