Ipsen Pharma’s “Tanakan” Packaging Refresh: Merging Tradition and Modern Design

Ipsen Pharma is a French pharmaceutical company headquartered in Paris, France, founded in 1929. The company operates in the research and production of drugs in cancer treatment, neuroscience, and rare diseases. Ipsen has established a strong position in the pharmaceutical industry, with its products available in most hospitals and pharmacies worldwide.

In Vietnam, Ipsen has developed robust partnerships with leading hospitals, doctors, and pharmacists specializing in the University of Medicine. With its solid standing in the Vietnamese pharmaceutical sector, the Vu Digital team had the opportunity to collaborate with Ipsen Pharma on a project to renew the packaging for its “Tanakan” product line, which includes two products:

“Tanakan” medicine, which helps treat symptoms of attention and memory disorders.
“Tanakan Energy” health food, which supports health and concentration.

Tanakan
Tanakan is a brain tonic extracted from standardized Ginkgo Biloba, with EGb 761 as its main ingredient. EGb 761 is a crucial factor contributing to the product’s effectiveness. It is used to treat attention and memory disorders in the elderly, painful manifestations of arteritis, certain visual and ENT disorders, neurocirculatory issues, and Raynaud’s syndrome.

Tanakan Energy
“Tanakan Energy” is a functional food that promotes health. It is extracted entirely from Ginkgo Biloba, combined with Eleutherococcus ginseng, and vitamins B5, B1, and B6. This blend supports brain functionality and enhances concentration at high intensity.

Color Palette
The packaging uses a color system consisting of two primary colors: “Tanakan Blue” and “Neon Green.” These are combined with colors from the complementary palette to create a consistent brand identity. This color system is used for over 70% of the total design, created specifically for this product without affecting the color schemes of other brand product lines.
