Biosalina is natural cosmetics made from Artemia crustacean caviar concentrate from ecologically clean, salt lakes of the Trans-Urals. The line consists of face cream, body scrub, face toner and body milk.
The basis of the corporate style is an illustration of the crustacean Artemia. It is very beautiful, and in its natural environment it has many tones and color transitions due to its semi-transparent body. The task of the style is to convey the power of nature, concentrated in cosmetics, so we show the crustacean in its natural environment. The difficulty is that this representative of the crustacean genus should not be repulsive, because such animals often cause unpleasant feelings. To enhance the intrigue and to avoid showing the crustacean entirely, only part of the floating crustacean is visible on one side of the package. It does not so much swim as hover on the lake, very light, almost weightless.
The cardboard box is made in light colors and to associate it with the lake, in addition to the crustacean, it has blue round spots. They are like glare on the water and like outlines of lakes at the same time. Their shape does not resemble the sea or the ocean, it is associated with the lake from where the crustaceans are obtained.
The bottles and the cream jar are completely covered in turquoise and are available in two versions – with and without the image of a crustacean. The crustacean gives the bottles a more premium look and is also more expensive to manufacture. In this version, the crustaceans are swimming in the thickness of the lake, and the typography with the name on top shimmers in the light. The version with only the name is more utilitarian and will look nice on a bathroom shelf. It has a pleasant soft-touch surface and foil letters.
To emphasize the sophistication of the crayfish and its complex structure, a simple and laconic sans-serif font is used. Accents are placed by changing the font thickness, and all typography is done in two colors – black and white. So it does not interfere with the richly toned illustration.
