Global wine producer Freixenet ventures into the French Sparkling Wines category with a captivating new range designed by independent brand design agency, Hunt Hanson. Initially launched in the UK and Brazil, the range includes two variants—Brut and Rosé—presented in exquisitely bespoke bottles inspired by haute couture fashion.
Recognising the increasing popularity of French Sparkling wines, Freixenet seized the opportunity to rejuvenate the category and elevate its brand through premiumisation by offering a range that embodies refreshing charm and unmistakable French elegance. Drawing on the success of its Prosecco range, which has exceeded €100 million in global sales since its 2017 launch, the brand felt confident in expanding into this thriving category.
Hunt Hanson was tasked with creating a design for the range that embodied accessible elegance and premium style, appealing to fun-loving consumers who cherish celebrating life’s everyday moments.
“Our aim was to depart from the serious, formal appearance typical of Champagnes and French sparkling wines with a design that was stylish, approachable, and genuinely unique,” explains Nick Hanson, Co-Founder and Creative Director at Hunt Hanson. “The French know how to enjoy the finer things in life without trying too hard, so our challenge was to strike the right balance—creating something bold and distinctive while capturing that delightful sense of effortless elegance.”
The bespoke bottles feature intricate faceting inspired by elegant folds of fabric, highlighting the wines’ beautiful pale colours. Complemented by a distinctive label shape embodying French sophistication, and featuring the new Freixenet branding by Hunt Hanson, this design departs from the traditional aesthetics of the category, offering a refreshing look that showcases the bottle’s beauty and reflects the wines’ delicacy.
