Humanda Reimagines De Syloia Hotel With a Sophisticated Identity Rooted in Heritage

Humanda Reimagines De Syloia Hotel With a Sophisticated Identity Rooted in Heritage

Tucked into the vibrant heart of Hanoi’s historic Old Quarter, De Syloia Hotel is a hidden gem that gracefully merges colonial-era architecture with refined French-inspired interiors. The building radiates a quiet sophistication—arched windows, shuttered balconies, and warm lighting that gently spills onto timeworn streets. Inside, guests are transported into an atmosphere where old-world charm meets the comfort and elegance of modern luxury. From the moment one steps through its doors, De Syloia offers more than just a stay—it promises an experience rooted in heritage, care, and thoughtful detail.

In a city where many boutique hotels follow a similar architectural pattern—narrow, symmetrical structures with steeply pitched roofs—De Syloia sought to differentiate itself. While a major renovation revitalized the property’s physical space, it became clear that the brand itself needed a transformation to match. That’s where Humanda stepped in, tasked with reimagining the hotel’s identity and aligning its visual presence with its elevated guest experience.

Central to this rebrand was the creation of a new monogram logo—an elegant yet bold emblem that encapsulates the spirit of De Syloia. We drew inspiration from the rich textures of Hanoi’s past, the architectural legacy of French Indochina, and the refined hospitality that defines the hotel. The result is a monogram that feels grounded in tradition while confidently modern, a symbol that speaks to the hotel’s origins yet looks firmly toward the future. With its refined curves and subtle flourishes, the monogram becomes a visual shorthand for everything De Syloia represents: warmth, distinction, and timeless quality.

This emblem now anchors the brand system and appears across every touchpoint—from signage and stationery to menus and in-room details—quietly reinforcing the hotel’s unique identity at every turn. Alongside the monogram, a custom hand-lettered wordmark was developed to complement its tone: classic, composed, and effortlessly stylish. Every element of the brand was designed to feel considered and cohesive, reflecting the care and hospitality guests experience during their stay.

The new identity doesn’t shout; it whispers with confidence. It invites discovery, evokes curiosity, and leaves a lasting impression. With a refreshed look that seamlessly blends with the hotel’s story and surroundings, De Syloia now stands apart—not only as a place to rest, but as a destination that honors its heritage while offering a modern, meaningful experience for every guest who walks through its doors.
