” Design studio Horse has created the packaging for a limited edition and collectible mineral water for Nongfu Spring, which celebrates the Chinese Year of the Monkey.
The studio designed the core range of glass bottles for Nongfu in 2015, which feature various plant and animal species from the Changbai Mountain water source, and were tasked to create a collectible version for 2016.
Ian Firth co-founder and creative director at Horse comments, “It was a natural progression from the core design to highlight the animal which represents 2016 in the Chinese Calendar, whilst also being sure to inject some fun to differentiate the limited edition run. A family of monkeys playfully swings from the branding and text on the bottle to reflect their cheeky spirit, and details are pulled out in gold foil to make it feel that little bit more special.”
Nongfu intends to create a limited edition design each year, for the next 12 years. Reflecting the family theme of the design, and in the spirit of celebration and giving – bottles will be given to families with newborns from this lunar calendar.”
