We created the brand identity for the first edition of Proxectar, an event centred around conversations about design, a place to uncover the behind-the-scenes craft behind a final product.
Proxectar aims to bring global design conversations to Nigrán (Galicia, Spain), strengthening design culture in regions on the periphery of Spain. The intention is to connect local audiences, who rarely have access to this kind of exchange, with the wider international design community. Organised by Andrés Fraga, this year’s edition featured designers such as John Marshall from Pentagram, Tomás Alonso, Paula Ojea, Estar, and Marcos Dopico from the University of Vigo.
The event takes place near the picturesque Nigrán promenade, known for its distinctive red-and-white tiled pattern. This became the starting point for our design concept: a visual identity rooted in the pattern of the place where the community gathers.
For the logotype, we drew inspiration from 14th-century engraved lettering found in Galicia, as well as the typographic work of Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao from the last century.
Together, the typography and the pattern form a dynamic, contemporary visual identity that bridges local heritage with global design culture.
