Hima Seafood Photography for Identity

Branding the world’s largest land-based trout farm
KIND has branded what will be, by far, the world’s largest land-based trout fish farm. Hima Seafood have fullyinvested umore than 250 million Euros in the project, which will see construction at Rjukan in Telemark.

Hima® | Trusted Telemark Trout
Hima® Seafood is building the future of aquaculture in the dark valley of Rjukan in Telemark. A Revolutionary land-based fish farming using fresh recirculated mountain water will create a new standard in the environmentally friendly farming of premium trout. In this natural landscape, the clean, cold waters of Rjukan which flow rapidly down from high-altitude mountain lakes help to grow the healthiest, best tasting trout in the world.

Hima, genesis of the name
In Norwegian, hima describes a thin fog that shrouds everything – like a cloud touching the ground. In the Rjukan valley in Telemark, this fine mist casts a veil over river and mountain alike. It is a cloak of intrigue, a protector of mystery; but one that will always slowly lift to reveal the natural beauty that lies beneath.

Photography for identity
It takes a certain amount of darkness to see the stars.
In a valley in Telemark, it’s pitch-black five months a year.
Here, tall mountains protect the deep crystal-clear waters.
This is the birthplace of a real seafood superstar.

The fog is the symbol of the mysterious, and it hides many treasures. The very origin of Hima’s name comes from the fog that also characterizes the dark valley the fish live in. A valley that is covered in complete darkness five months of the year. The sheltered, mysterious surroundings of pure mountain water from the surrounding glaciers creates a perfect atmosphere for a trout to thrive. When the darkness and fog disappear, you can see the culinary treasure crystal clear.
