Wackes Gin is an Alsatian gin that has the particularity of being distilled. This high-end product is the result of a collaboration between the cocktail bar Le Douanier in Strasbourg and the Distillerie l’Officine in Colmar, in the East of France.
The word “Wackes” in Alsatian means rogue, so the identity plays on the codes of the brigand through the illustrations of the wallet, the eye but also the investigator (with the bowler hat, the pipe, the key and the pointing finger).
A cutout in the shape of a keyhole (present in the W of the logotype) is found on all the Gin bottles, allowing to look into the bottle and discover an illustration hidden inside.
The whole identity is based on this subtle balance and mix treated with an engraving style for the illustrations to highlight the vintage side of the product.
To contrast the whole, a very dense color range composed of a forest green and a very dark green almost black is boosted by a fluorescent orange which comes to put a touch of necessary modernity.
The TT Bluescreen DemiBold & Kassi Regular typefaces are used to create a link between the different elements and bring a real reading comfort with their thick sans serif design.
All these elements can be composed in different ways to develop this new graphic charter on social networks but also on future bottles and collaborations to come, because for each new product in the range, the brand will work with a different illustrator and the label can use one or more elements of this toolbox to be in constant evolution …
