Gate 58 Delivers a Visual System Where Transit Graphics Meet Coffee Euphoria

Gate 58 is a coffee brand built around the idea of transition. The seconds between tired and awake, stillness and motion, pause and impact. The client’s brief was simple but powerful: “I want it to feel like one sip of coffee could send you to the moon.” That single line became the launchpad for an identity that doesn’t just wake you up. It propels you forward.

Studio One Eighty developed a bold visual system that leans into this duality. The brand mark plays with controlled distortion. It feels confident but slightly unhinged, like the sharp hit of a well-timed espresso. The typography draws inspiration from vintage terminal signage, reimagined with a raw and modern edge. Baby blue serves as the grounding force, creating space to breathe and pause. Graphic red rectangles are used throughout the brand as visual markers. They guide the eye, create tension and release, and act as graphic bridges that complete otherwise fragmented compositions.

The name Gate 58 informed more than just the concept. It influenced the structure of the visual language itself. Much like a gate in an airport, it signals motion, direction, and change. That sense of anticipation is baked into the design system through layout, spacing, and rhythm.

From custom packaging and takeaway cups to signage and collateral, every brand touchpoint is treated like a piece of the system. The result is a coffee brand that feels sharp, intentional, and full of momentum. Gate 58 doesn’t just sell caffeine. It delivers a sensory experience that captures the energy between rest and lift-off.
