Fortaleza Museum of Health Brand and Visual Identity by Pedro Lides

The centenary historic building “Instituto Epitácio Pessoa”, with management and activities managed by the city government of Fortaleza, has already assumed several purposes and destinations throughout its existence, thus becoming a space for passages with seasonal features such as associations, libraries, cinema and schools. In addition to presenting administrative difficulties in remaining faithful to its purpose and origin, the public building accompanied the evolution of the municipality of Fortaleza in its cultural, social, economic, historical and urban path, with facts that impacted the most diverse political portfolios, in particular the health sector, which is internationally renowned and highly engaged in research and hospital innovations. Currently, even with high sociopolitical relevance, the country does not have any physical or digital space for memories and historical appreciation of achievements in the care context and their impacts on the city.

In this context, historical heritage is re-signified as the Fortaleza Museum of Health, a project arising from an approximation between city and health, with a proposal to develop an expographic project in its premises with an invitation to stay, that sews evolution of the city of Fortaleza and health advances, especially in public institutions that are most impacted by urban growth, such as the Trauma and Emergency Hospital Complex, Instituto Dr. José Frota (IJF).

For this, the design will be used as a project development tool, with actions that include the universes of expography, digital, emotional, graphic and product design. In this sense, the project includes phases of historical research, structuring of the expository narrative, modules, environments, methodological process, curatorship, visual identity, exhibition panels, virtual immersion, Interfaces, lighting, accessibility, renders and mockups. Therefore, it is to be expected that this project will collaborate with the research and design of interactive multimodal museum spaces about functions and technologies, considering technical, aesthetic and functional issues.
