With the year that everyone’s had we decided that we needed to spread some seasonal cheer. We regularly like to get in touch with our clients at the end of the year to celebrate working together and to stay in touch. Many of our clients had had a tough year struggling with the fallout of the pandemic, so to say thank you to them we thought that we should send them a gift that would not only cheer them up but also warm them up.

The brief was to create something that was not only visually interesting, with a strong idea, but was also consumable and had talkability. As our clients lived and worked in various locations nationally and internationally it had to be able to be posted and wouldn’t perish or break in transit. Postage was a consideration, and although the package didn’t have to fit through the letterbox it was something to bear in mind.

The answer was bottled ‘Festive Spirit’. Seasonal cheer was lacking across the board with people having to respect restrictions of movement and from seeing each other in person. So to fuel a better mood we turned to alcohol and we used Triple Distilled Vodka as our spirit of choice, housed in a 35cl bottle. To help get things going we added some suggestions for Vodka based cocktails on the back label as well as a festive message of goodwill. We hand dipped the tops of the bottle in white wax for sealing, giving an additional festive ‘snow cap’ effect as well as craft spirit cues.

A little idea that was born out of thinking and empathising with our clients, who have become more like friends over this troubled period. A small thought that hopefully will cause a big reaction and something to brighten the mood over this troubled festive period.

One client has already been in touch saying that it had made his year! Another casual drinker had been enjoying cocktails over a whole weekend – while drinking responsibly! Others have lined up the idea for their Christmas gift to their clients next year. So the impact was what we had hoped for and more.
