Far Out is a California based Cannabis product. Focussing on ‘Cosmic Infused Weed’, Far Out approaches the market in a unique and bold way with their Mascotte “Tripp” as main eye-catcher. What started out as a branding and packaging project at first (establishing a Logo, Style Guide, Pre-Roll and Mylar Bag Packaging) quickly grow into a brand that focusses on engaging with their target audience on a bigger scale. There are for example extra character designs of sidekicks and villains to be used on posters, as stickers, merchandise and more. But also an extension of packaging from case packs to pouches and even a black and white comic book to be colored in when enjoying one of Far Out’s many pre-roll flavors.
I love to design characters and logos that make people laugh and get a ‘feel good’ vibe. Humor and fun are the heart of Far Out, which carries throughout the whole brand. With the Cannabis market in California being legal for only 2 years, it’s extremely important to stand out and get packaging that people can spot on the shelf from a distance. My goal was to match the products flavor together with the bold and fun approach, but also something that grab’s the eye. Together with the creative input of Far Out’s owner who provides all the texts, character names and is involved with the concept and developing the brand, Far Out has quickly established a name for itself in the cannabis community.
