This is a cultural and historical event that includes activities to explore the history of Minh Mang Tomb and Emperor Minh Mang, workshops, and other multisensory experiences. The event aims to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of the culture and history of Emperor Minh Mang during the Nguyen Dynasty, offering exciting experiences for those visiting the tomb, revitalizing abandoned areas, and promoting the traditional cultural heritage of Hue.
Based on Emperor Minh Mang’s special fondness for flowers and nature, floral imagery is deeply integrated into the architecture, poetry, and paintings of his time, contributing to the unique and refined beauty of Hue’s heritage today.
The event “Cửu Hoa Sử Họa” highlights the nine types of flowers depicted on Emperor Minh Mang’s Cuu Dinh (Nine Dynastic Urns), intertwined with his philosophy on life and death. Through this, it aims to convey themes of rebirth and purification, harmonizing with nature.
(Just as flowers grow strong and bloom beautifully during a certain life cycle before withering, they still leave behind seeds, passing on their beauty to future generations.)
The color scheme of “Cửu Hoa Sử Họa” is inspired by the traditional five-colored cakes of Hue, often used during Tet and other festive occasions. These distinctive colors immediately evoke the familiar essence of this land.
The illustrations are done in the Phap Lam style, with soft yet stylized lines that balance both modernity and tradition, appealing to a broad audience, especially younger generations.
This small project is a token of our team’s heartfelt memories and dedication. We truly hope everyone will enjoy and appreciate it!
