Emmesse_Graphic Designing Change: Ama Aquilone’s Weekend Project Campaign for Gambling Recovery

Advertising campaign created for the non-profit social cooperative Ama Aquilone, a cooperative that manages residential structures called “Case” in the Piceno area, with the aim of a broad welcome which, while maintaining its therapeutic specificity, embraces an idea of dignity intimately linked to human encounter, and a series of accommodations for adults in difficulty. The Cooperative carries out, with consolidated continuity, socio-work inclusion projects aimed at the unemployed, young people, families and all those people experiencing the drama of the “new poverty”. The Project is aimed at supporting the emancipation and autonomy of individuals affected by gambling addiction through the strengthening and development of the skills necessary for access to the world of work. The Department of Addiction Pathology tests new therapeutic approaches for pathological gamblers; this is the Weekend Project which consists of the activation of intensive weekends, to be held in informal places with the aim of encouraging the development of greater personal awareness regarding the uncomfortable situation one is experiencing.
A loop, a scream. Not a cry of pain, not a cry of love,
not a cry of fear. A cry that goes hand in hand with that of the Norwegian painter Edward Munch, who wants to represent the existential condition of modern man, often afflicted by loneliness, anguish, lack of communication, and who often finds refuge in “addictions”, which are also modern. Pathological gambling, addiction to new technologies and social networks. Addictions that drag us into an infinite loop. The cry is addressed to them, a cry of affront, of rebellion.
