Dizen Elevates Santa Carolina’s 150-Year Legacy with a Timeless Packaging Design

Scene
Santa Carolina is one of the wineries with the longest history in Chile. Founded in 1875 by Luis Pereira, it is known for producing a wide portfolio of wines with consistent quality. It has been constantly praised by the press and specialized critics. Among them, the first international recognition for a Chilean wine stands out, which was awarded Santa Carolina Reserva de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon wine in 1889 during the Exposition Universelle in Paris.
Santa Carolina is the emblematic brand of Carolina Wine Brands, one of the main wine groups in Chile; it has an international presence in more than 60 countries, through a wide portfolio that allows it to offer its consumers excellent quality wines in all price ranges.

The Challenge
The winery chose us to design the commemorative packaging for its 150 years, understanding this moment as a unique milestone. We set out to create something more than just a design: a piece that encompasses its tradition, its essence and the unwavering commitment to project the Winery’s legacy into the future. Each element of the label honors the past, while paving the way for the next chapters of this great story that we decided to tell through a visual narrative.

The Solution
To synthesize the history and essence of the Winery, we designed a seal that functions as a sub-brand, adaptable to different communication pieces. On the label, a classic engraving-style illustration brings to life five women, five Carolinas, each reflecting different personality attributes and the eras that forged the identity of the Winery. The design proposes a visual journey where past, present and future come together, an evolution that keeps its origins alive. Framed by the imposing Andes Mountains, the vineyard is the soul of this story, while the elements at the base of the illustration symbolize the passage of time and the continuity of an infinite legacy.
