DesignRepublic Elevates Ecofrost with a Global Identity Rooted in Clarity and Flavor

Ecofrost is a Belgian company specialized in high-quality frozen potato products, exported worldwide. When they first approached us at the end of 2023, the request was simple: slightly refresh the logo and create new packaging designs.

But when they saw our first proposals, they immediately realised something important — their slightly outdated logo no longer matched the freshness and modernity of the new packaging. That sparked a deeper collaboration.

We were asked to rethink the brand identity from a strategic angle. The result? A completely new logo that works seamlessly in both corporate and retail environments. The tagline “Good with potatoes” was introduced, and we added a subtle wink in the form of a reimagined “E”: the middle stroke replaced by a perfectly angled fry – tilted at exactly 11°, the ideal eating angle (yes, really).

From that moment on, trust was firmly established. Together, we rapidly rolled out the new branding across all touchpoints:

– Fully redesigned packaging for a global audience (with over 30 languages included)
– A new multilingual product brochure, including photoshoots and styling (different country versions)
– Realistic mockups for international trade fairs (SIAL, Anuga, and many many more)
– Visualisations of Ecofrost’s exhibition booth and on-site presence

A Coherent Range, Built for a World of Variety

The rebranding included the packaging design of over 70 SKUs — a vast and diverse product range that required a smart structural approach without losing visual unity.

We strategically divided the assortment into subranges, starting with their hero product: French fries in all their glorious forms (no less than 16 varieties!), followed by the crunchy cuts (another 13 types). The rest of the range was structured by type of consumption: finger food, dinner products, sweet potato, and flakes.

To bring visual consistency while keeping each subrange distinct, we chose to feature top-down product shots as heroes — styled on the most fitting support: a bowl, dish, board or paper, depending on the product. Each segment was also assigned a unique color code for quick recognition.

A Brochure That Brings It All Together

To support the launch of the new brand, the complete product brochure was re-envisioned from the ground up. The look and feel were fully aligned with the new branding: clean, confident and consistent, with the product always in the spotlight.

We developed a full suite of custom illustrations to clearly explain the production process, and organised on-site product shoots — not only to stay close to the product environment, but also to manage the large number of SKUs in the most efficient way possible.

Throughout the brochure, we carefully balanced professional clarity with appetite appeal, while adding a subtle human touch to reflect the values behind the brand. The result is a powerful commercial tool that speaks to clients around the world, in multiple languages, while staying true to the heart of Ecofrost.
