Designing a Bold and Dynamic Brand Identity for Fábrica de Teatro Popular: Redefining the Theater Experience

The Fábrica de Teatro Popular (Popular Theater Factory) FTP* is a visionary project that merges the creative forces of Área Visual and Dramax films, in order to transform the way we experience theater. The FTP* is more than just a label of creation and production of various performing arts content; it is an experience that transcends the boundaries of traditional theater, creating immersive universes that change with every show. The project’s aim is to transport audiences to new worlds and spark their imaginations, making them feel like they are part of the performance.

The FTP* project is a truly bold and innovative approach to the performing arts. Combining multimedia elements with diverse performing arts, the project aims to create a unique and engaging experience for its audience. That’s why we created a dynamic and variable brand, which features basic shapes that allude to the architecture of a theater, forming its initials FTP*, and hidden in its counterforms, there is an isotype representing the Factory. With this system of shapes we can play and discover within them the diverse expressions and worlds that the project offers to its spectators.

The FTP* project pays homage to the vision of Jorge Alí Triana, the founder of the Teatro Popular of Bogotá, who believed that theater should be popular and humanist and proposes culture as a source of entertainment. The FTP* builds on this vision, returning with new ideas and over 30 years of experience to put great works on the stage, on TV, in the cinema, and in the new digital media.

The project creates an experience that changes every time the spectator attends a show. It’s not just about watching a play, but about immersing oneself in a multimedia universe that invites the audience to create fantasies, imagine worlds, invent scenarios, and make theater in their own way. The project’s aim is to revolutionize the way we experience theater by providing a new way of experiencing theater that is both innovative and engaging.

Through the FTP*, viewers can expect to see a range of various performing arts content, including plays, movies, TV shows, and digital media productions. The project’s goal is to create an extensive library of immersive universes that change with every show, providing a unique experience that is tailored to each audience. The FTP* is not just a project; it is a journey to the past and a tribute to the vision of Jorge Alí Triana, building on his ideas to create something truly new and exciting.
