As an ambitious new voice in the English wine landscape, Marbury approached us with a clear but complex challenge: to create a brand from the ground up that would reflect its coastal roots, convey its premium positioning, and confidently introduce the winery to both domestic and international markets. Founded by the renowned Jackson Family Wines, Marbury is located in one of England’s most distinctive viticultural regions perched above the River Crouch estuary and surrounded by the sweeping marshlands where freshwater meets the North Sea. This unique coastal setting shapes not only the wine’s terroir but also its story, offering a natural environment that is both dramatic and deeply expressive.

We developed a name, brand identity, packaging system, photography, and digital presence that together communicate both heritage and modernity. The name “Marbury” draws from Latin ‘Mar’ meaning sea, and ‘bury’ meaning fortress or stronghold evoking a sense of both place and resilience. That sense of strength is echoed in the vineyard itself. The Crouch Valley’s clay soils and challenging growing conditions demand an extraordinary level of skill and attention. Marbury’s team has embraced this, cultivating vines of remarkable character and producing wines of exceptional balance, purity, and depth.

Our creative direction was shaped by this deep respect for craft and place delivering a brand experience that is elegant, grounded, and unmistakably coastal, positioning Marbury as a confident new leader in the future of English wine.
