My personal brand is currently undergoing a transformation, driven by the need to re-enter the design market with a renewed vision and a more strategic approach. While typography has always been a core focus of my work, I realized it was time to create a new visual identity that better reflects who I am and how my work has evolved.

The name “Carranca” has strong cultural roots, especially in Portuguese and Brazilian traditions. Historically, carrancas were grotesque and intimidating sculptures placed on the prows of boats navigating the São Francisco River in Brazil. These figures were believed to ward off evil spirits and protect the crew. The term “carranca” can also refer to a stern or serious facial expression, symbolizing strength and protection.

This concept inspired the creation of my new logo, designed to embody the balance between resilience, strength, and the creativity that defines my approach to design. The new identity connects my personal heritage with the symbolism behind the name, representing who I am as a designer.
The name “Carranca,” which is also my surname, has deep roots in both Portuguese and Brazilian culture. The new identity not only represents who I am but also establishes a connection with the heritage and symbolism behind the name I carry.
