The project that transforms Cosenza into a vibrant microcosm

Cosmo, an acronym for Cosenza Micro Mondi, is an innovative initiative designed to attract a new community to the charming city of Cosenza, located in the heart of Italy. This project aims to promote authentic tourism, enhancing the deep connection with the local area. Cosmo goes beyond conventional tourism strategies by stimulating economic development opportunities for the local community. Furthermore, it integrates a significant digital dimension, positioning itself as a strategic hub for communication and the enhancement of Cosenza’s urban fabric.

Through a personalised narrative approach and the use of captivating multimedia content, Cosmo seeks to highlight the unique identity and fascinating stories of Cosenza. The city is reimagined as a vibrant microcosm, composed of multiple, interconnected worlds. In this vision, neighbourhoods are transformed into planets and islands, where the rich “Bruzia” culture comes to life through the experiences of the inhabitants, their diverse activities, and the incredible variety of daily expressions that characterise the city.

A cosmic journey of discovery in Cosenza

Together with Gianni Famà, we developed a complex and engaging identity for COSMO. We crafted a vision of Cosenza as a cosmic map, where the neighbourhoods represent planets within a galaxy waiting to be explored. The people of Cosenza are envisioned as astronauts, eager to embark on a journey of discovery to uncover the micro realities that make their city truly unique.

This ambitious project engaged us for several months, providing an invaluable opportunity to delve deeply into the stories and daily activities of Cosenza. It was a compelling and enriching experience that allowed us to uncover and narrate the story of the city through the eyes of its inhabitants. We meticulously documented their lives, capturing the essence of their interactions and the vibrant culture that thrives within Cosenza. By doing so, we aimed to create a dynamic and immersive portrayal of the city, one that would resonate with both locals and visitors alike.
