Curious Craft Spirits

Kingdom & Sparrow – Curio

Curio Spirits produce award-winning, small batch gin and vodka in their distillery in Cornwall. We worked with them to launch their brand in 2014 and have recently helped them undertake a brand refresh, premiumising their look with a custom bottle.THE PROJECTCurio always wanted to position themselves as a high-end spirits brand that would stand out in a crowded market, so distinctive flavours and unique design were paramount. The 2019 brand refresh has given Curio an ownable, high-end look, beautifully giftable products and more sustainable packaging.THE JOURNEYWe worked with Curio on everything from naming their company, to advising on flavours, market research and label design. To get across the depth and quality of flavour we developed stylised hand-painted botanical illustrations, each relating to the unique flavours and delicately balanced taste of the products. For their brand refresh we worked with them to design a distinctive custom bottle in collaboration with Allied Glass, as well as bold recyclable capsules. The result is a luxurious, impactful new look – but the original botanical illustration style has stood the test of time.THE OUTCOMECurio have been hugely successful since their launch and are now a well-known name in the spirits world. They’ve won multiple awards and have relationships with national distributors and retailers, including Harvey Nichols and John Lewis.
