Corn Studio – OEVOO, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Corn Studio – OEVOO, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

“OEVOO is our submission/contribution to the Roooots Setouchi Triennale 2013 in Tokyo-Japan, a Specialty Products Redesign Contest which will be held in Japan’s Setouchi region from March 2013, organized by Loftwork.com. It is an international arts festival designed to revitalize the region through contemporary art and features the islands of the Seto Inland Sea of Kagawa and Okayama Prefectures as its stage. The last festival held in 2010 attracted more than 900,000 visitors from all over the world.  In conjunction with Setouchi Triennale and with the shared objective to breathe life back into the local industries, the Roooots Setouchi Specialty Products Redesign Project 2013 called us for re-designing one of the packages and products of Seto specialty products which will be sold at galleries and souvenir stores in the region. The Roooots Specialty Redesign Project is a collaborative initiative designed to showcase regional specialty goods and creative talent from around the world as well as promote sustainable development on a regional level.  Our key focus was to create a highly recognizable logo and the limited edition packaging of the bottle. We named it OEVOO from the initials [Organic Extra Virign Olive Oil], combining the oil drop with the Japanese sun as if the oil drop is flowing from the sun. We wanted to show that the rarest and the best olive oil comes directly from Japan. All ingredients are 100% home-grown. Olive trees are pruned so as to receive the most sunshine possible. The olives are picked by hand, and the oil is extracted within 48 hours. As production is limited, only 600kgs of olive oil can be produced each year.”
