The Wilderness Collection from Lark celebrates the deep connection between nature and craftsmanship through three distinct chapters: Earth, Sky, and Sea. Each chapter comprises a limited series of Single Casks that, together, take the audience on a journey across Tasmania’s wild landscapes.
The first release in the Earth Chapter, Moss Hopper, pays tribute to Lark’s Central Highland peat marsh and its remarkable inhabitant, the Moss Hopper. This tiny froglet spends its entire life among the sphagnum moss of Lark’s peat bog, playing a crucial role in maintaining the delicate balance of this unique ecosystem. As one of the smallest amphibians, it thrives amidst the boldest whisky flavours. The subtle yet intricate interplay between nature and craftsmanship is reflected in every drop of Moss Hopper, making it a true celebration of Tasmania’s pristine wilderness.
The packaging design brings the Moss Hopper story to life with an intricate illustration featuring local flora such as Buttongrass and King Billy pine trees. Printed both on the front and back of the bottle, the illustration invites consumers to explore this natural wonderland. Each bottle is hand-numbered, emphasising the rarity and special nature of this release. The side of the bottle and gift box are crafted to appear like the spine of a book, highlighting the release number, chapter title and indicating the location of Lark’s peat marsh.
With only 368 bottles available, The Moss Hopper is an exceptionally rare and special release. It embodies the essence of Lark’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and the celebration of Tasmania’s natural beauty.
