CF Napa Creates Rose Gold Standard in Willamette Valley Sparkling

Willamette Valley Vineyards came to CF Napa Brand Design to develop the brand strategy, brand story, and packaging design for their new sparkling wine house, Domaine Willamette. The winery had been producing sparkling wine under their Willamette Valley Vineyards label since 2014 but was writing a huge new chapter into their history with the 2022 completion of Domaine Willamette’s sparkling wine production facility and visitors center in Dayton, Oregon—they needed to debut an expertly executed strategy & packaging to match.

To ground this fundamental shift, they engaged CF Napa Brand Design to create a visual separation between their existing Willamette Valley Vineyards brand and their new Domaine Willamette brand. The founder’s history needed to be reframed to accentuate the brand’s celebration of the land, the community, and dedication to making great wine.

From the winery, “Our estate vineyards are certified sustainable – LIVE (Low Input Viticulture and Enology) and Salmon-Safe.”

Through storytelling, CF Napa Brand Design helped define this holistic commitment as a lifestyle—The Willamette Way. The sparkling wine packaging was then developed to communicate this idea and assert Domaine Willamette as a timeless classic while remaining approachable.

CF Napa Brand Design drew an icon of interlocking roses as a nod to the roses planted along each vineyard row that greet arriving guests. The symbol, foiled in rose gold, became the focal point of the label. The usage of a step-and-repeat W on the capsule evoked the patterns used by luxury fashion brands. The strategic treatment of foil on the Méthode Traditionnelle and Estate Grown statements created additional visual interest and drew attention to the winery’s dedication to their land and winemaking traditions.
