CEXM Designs Premium Beachwear Brand Gota for North American Market

This visual identity project was created for Gota, the new beachwear brand in the Canadian and American markets, conceived by Brazilian creative director and founder Carolina Rodrigues.

Gota is a Portuguese word meaning “drop.” Just like a drop of water, it captures the natural beauty and fluidity of life. Passionate about fashion, beaches, and summer, the brand’s purpose is to radiate Brazilian essence in every direction, ensuring its audience—both men and women—feel comfortable and confident in all situations, wearing its products on beaches, pools, and resorts worldwide. Its inspiration stems from the charms of the sun, sea, and summer, bringing an atmosphere of energy and relaxation to each piece.

Noticing a gap in the market for premium options, superior quality products, and elegant design in Canada and the United States, Gota positioned itself as a premium brand with Brazilian personality, design, and craftsmanship. Born to meet the desires of a discerning audience who share a love for travel, the sun, and the sea, then it adds value through high-quality materials and designs adaptable to various occasions.

The driving force behind this project was to convey high standards in beachwear fashion while embodying the vibrant and sunny personality of Brazilian summers. Carefully considered in every detail, all products carry this cultural essence that combines design, comfort, and confidence. To visually translate this concept and embody the brand’s personality, I used the adapted typographic structure chosen for the logo and created supporting graphics that enhanced the brand identity. I drew inspiration from the flora, fauna, and ecosystem symbolizing the Brazilian summer, to create four elements in a refined way: sun, waves, coconut tree, and macaw. The connection between these symbols and the logo was the foundational factor enabling the creation of a modern and consistent visual language. Each graphic was constructed using one or more letters, where everything took shape through numerous trials of connection, repetition, and rotation.
