Celebrating the Birthplace of Blending With Old Perth

Celebrating the Birthplace of Blending With Old Perth

With a reputation soaked in whisky, Perth was once known as the blending capital of the world. Founded by grocer and wine merchant Peter Thomson in 1908, Old Perth is evidence of this illustrious history. This range of sherry matured blended malts needed a brand that could honour the past but win in the present, so Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers turned to long term partners, Thirst Craft, for a third time.

To build Old Perth’s new brand, Thirst went back to where it all began. Inspired by Peter Thomson’s shop on Perth high street, Thirst borrowed the hand-painted typography from Victorian shop fronts to give Old Perth a modern classic aesthetic.

Decorative typography works in perfect harmony with embossed panels to create vintage-style adverts on the secondary pack, while an indulgent colour palette with a rich vein of sherry burgundy ties the range together. A simply sophisticated new range and a fitting celebration for the birthplace of blending.

The Old Perth brand sits within a range of brands created by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers. Each of the brands operating in the Scotch Whisky market uses the house custom glass bottle with the Morrison name and identity embossed into the neck and the base. The range scales from the original blend up to a premium price point with blends aged up to 40 years old.
