Flamboyant Gin’s design draws inspiration from a timeless snapshot captured in a magazine 50 years ago, a scene that embodies Bolivia’s enduring essence. Aimed to capture the spirit of Bolivia, the Flamboyant Gin design features a visually captivating label celebrating the nation’s vibrant identity. Inspired by a National Geographic cover featuring the word “flamboyant” to describe the country, this design targets millennial consumers seeking a premium, Instagram-worthy gin.
The challenge was designing a label that transcends a simple product identifier and embodies Bolivian vibrancy, attracting a young, social media-savvy audience.
We created a colorful vector-style illustration to showcase Bolivia’s unique identity that brought together iconic Bolivian imagery. The artwork was framed with intricate details that reinterpreted the iconic magazine’s cover image. The woman in a traditional Tarija skirt, holding Muscatel grapes, was the composition’s focal point. Around her, a tapestry of Bolivian symbols – from the majestic Andes to vibrant flora and fauna – showcased the country’s rich heritage.
This tapestry of Bolivian symbols goes beyond captivating the eye; it weaves a narrative that celebrates the country’s biodiversity and culture. A sprinkle of glow-in-the-dark ink on the label’s name and details adds a touch of surprise.
Giving a modern twist to a scene from a magazine over 50 years old proved to be both challenging and rewarding. By immersing ourselves in this unique culture, we could explore its depths and reshape its perception through the power of design.
The label’s visual splendor and celebration of Bolivian heritage resonate with the target audience. It positions Flamboyant Gin as a premium, authentic product that stands out on the shelf and sparks conversation on social media.
Recycled paper and water-based inks contribute to Flamboyant Gin’s commitment to responsible production. This design exemplifies the power of packaging to tell a story, fostering brand connection and igniting consumer interest.
