Carvico, an Italian textile manufacturer, has been an industry cornerstone since its inception in 1962, operating from its headquarters in Carvico, Italy. Renowned for its exceptional expertise in the production of high-performance technical fabrics, Carvico stands at the forefront as a leading supplier of textiles that are integral to sportswear, swimwear, and sports equipment. The company’s reputation is built upon a foundation of innovation and quality, boasting an impressive array of elastic, compressive, breathable, and UV-resistant materials.
Assigment
In a world where the intersection of technology, quality, and research is ever-evolving, Carvico recognized the need to redefine its image. The assignment at hand was the repositioning and rebranding of Carvico to accurately reflect the company’s commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry. Simultaneously, Carvico sought entry into the B2C (business-to-consumer) market, necessitating a consumer-friendly identity that harmoniously aligned with the sporting goods category while remaining consistent with the intended end-use of the textiles produced by Carvico.
Solution & Process
The solution we devised to fulfill this multifaceted assignment involved a comprehensive rebranding strategy rooted in a visually striking and innovative identity. At the core of this identity is a custom typeface, designed exclusively for Carvico. This bold and extended sans serif typeface was employed not only for the logotype but also as the basis for the typographic visuals that underpin the entire branding.
Furthermore, we took inspiration from the intricate threads of Carvico’s fabrics and meticulously crafted a second version of the custom typeface. This version, closely mirroring the essence of the fabric threads, adds a distinct dimension to the visual identity, emphasizing the company’s commitment to its craft.
The overarching visual identity of Carvico is characterized by its cleanliness and technical inspiration. A seamless amalgamation of the custom typeface and a well-executed grotesque typography is woven into the brand’s fabric. This harmonious blend is supplemented by a comprehensive collection of icons and symbols, each thoughtfully designed to encapsulate the essence of Carvico’s products.
In summary, Carvico’s rebranding venture not only represents a commitment to staying at the vanguard of technological innovation and quality but also signals an exciting foray into the consumer market.
