Can Calet Brand Identity for a Family Village in Mallorca

Rustic house in Mallorca with the typical Majorcan architecture of the XIX century. The aim of the owners is to convert the space into a charming place for events. The origin and family roots, where agriculture was the basis of subsistence, are the inspiration for the entire graphic image. The harvesting of potatoes, almonds, carobs and the breeding of cows was the main business of the family.

The geometric shapes of the house give rise to the visual identity generating a style to apply and represent identifying elements. Thus a typographic character of the brand (A) and a central communication element is generated. This central element is a window that serves as a container for old photographs of the family. It is also a way to generate a closer and nostalgic feeling through family memories.

The versatility of colour and different supports of communication are a good alternative way to introduce different services and to increase the range of target and type of events. Main typography takes its name from the oldest of the garden roses, Rosa Gallica. The duality of soft petals met with prickling thorns soaks into the design of its juxtaposing forms to create a truly expressive, experimental take on a contemporary serif. It is made to tangle and intertwine to create a stunning display of its delicate, hypnotic curves. Local production and printing. The project has been designed by Barceló Estudio and manufactured in a traditional and local printing house in Palma (Mallorca).

Can Calet is a project that stands out for the character of rural festivity, the essence of the grandparents, the modernity of the present, the memory of the family and the Mediterranean air of the Majorcan farms.
