British Red Cross Leaps & Grounds Visual Identity by NotOnSunday

Founded in 2021 Leaps & Grounds is a speciality coffee social enterprise developed by the British Red Cross. Its aim is to support refugee women in taking steps towards their dream careers. They do this by providing paid work experience on their coffee cart and regular one-to-one mentoring, so women can build the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to start building a new career.

Employment is key to well-being, independence, integration and socialisation; and they found that women who had experienced forced displacement, faced some of the biggest barriers to entering employment here in the UK.

To help address this, they launched Leaps & Grounds. We were tasked with creating a fresh new look and feel that helped them to standout and be seen within a very crowded marketplace. A visual identity that embodies the high-quality coffee and friendly service that you can expect to receive, whilst also knowing you’re doing something good with your everyday coffee and every cup giving refugee women a chance to thrive and create a better future for themselves and their families.

To ensure standout and brand personality we created a visual identity that allowed the brand to expand beyond just the logo and colours. We did this by using elements of the logo to create a brand pattern that was adaptable and could be used on a variety of applications and formats including the Leaps & Grounds coffee cart, coffee cups, loyalty cards and various posters that are positioned near to the coffee cart.
